What FXMacroData serves for the Danish krone: 14 Statistics Denmark, Danmarks Nationalbank and BIS series, from the certificate of deposit rate and CPI to GDP, trade and confidence, with how the euro peg shapes their use, release times and a worked CPI example.

**Quick answer**

FXMacroData serves 14 Danish krone series from the production catalogue, published by Statistics Denmark (Danmarks Statistik), Danmarks Nationalbank and, for the trade-weighted index, the Bank for International Settlements. They cover Nationalbanken's certificate of deposit rate, the 10-year government bond yield, CPI and core inflation, producer prices, GDP, industrial production, unemployment, house prices, business and consumer confidence, trade and the current account.

DKK is different from most currencies in the catalogue: it is pegged to the euro, so the data matter less for the direction of EUR/DKK and more for whether the peg is under pressure and how closely Nationalbanken follows the ECB.

This guide explains how the peg shapes the use of Danish data, what is in the DKK catalogue, when releases land in Copenhagen time and UTC, and how traders use the series.

## Who publishes Danish krone data

**Danmarks Nationalbank.**Denmark's central bank has a single monetary policy objective: keeping the krone stable against the euro. Denmark participates in the European exchange rate mechanism ERM II with a central rate of 7.46038 kroner per euro and a fluctuation band of plus or minus 2.25 percent, and Nationalbanken in practice keeps EUR/DKK far closer to the central rate than that. It adjusts its official interest rates to defend the peg, usually in step with the ECB, and uses intervention when needed. It also compiles the government bond yield statistics.

**Statistics Denmark.**Danmarks Statistik publishes CPI, producer prices, the quarterly national accounts, industrial production, the unemployment rate, house prices, the business tendency and consumer confidence surveys, external trade and the balance of payments. FXMacroData reads these from the StatBank tables.

**Bank for International Settlements.**The DKK trade-weighted index is the BIS nominal effective exchange rate (broad basket, 2020=100).

Each release is stored with an`announcement_datetime`, and new releases typically reach the API within seconds of official publication (see[release speed](/release-speed) ).

## DKK indicators covered

Every series below is listed at`/v1/data_catalogue/dkk`. The slug in brackets is the`indicator`value used in API calls.

### Policy and rates

- **[Certificate of deposit rate](/denmark/risk-free-rate)**(`risk_free_rate`): one of Nationalbanken's official rates, stored as one row per rate decision with holds included, back to 1992. Comparing its changes with ECB decisions shows how tightly Denmark is tracking euro area policy and when it has moved on its own to defend the peg.

- **[10-year government bond yield](/denmark/gov-bond-10y)**(`gov_bond_10y`): the monthly redemption yield on central-government bonds, compiled by Nationalbanken. The spread to German and euro area 10-year yields is a market read on peg credibility.

### Inflation

- **[CPI inflation](/dkk/inflation)**(`inflation`): year-on-year change in the consumer price index, monthly.

- **[Core inflation](/dkk/inflation/core-cpi)**(`core_inflation`): CPI excluding energy and unprocessed food, monthly.

- **[Producer Price Index](/dkk/inflation/ppi)**(`ppi`): year-on-year producer prices, which react quickly to energy and shipping costs in a small, open economy.

### Growth and activity

- **[GDP](/denmark/gdp)**(`gdp`): quarterly GDP at current prices, seasonally adjusted, in DKK billion. Danish GDP can be swung by a few large pharmaceutical and shipping companies, so the headline is often read with care.

- **Industrial production**(`industrial_production`): a monthly index (2021=100) covering mining, manufacturing and energy supply.

- **[Business tendency survey](/denmark/business-confidence)**(`business_confidence`): Statistics Denmark's monthly business confidence indicator, normalised to a 0 to 100 scale.

- **[Consumer confidence](/denmark/consumer-confidence)**(`consumer_confidence`): the monthly consumer confidence indicator, normalised to a 0 to 100 scale.

- **[House prices](/denmark/house-prices)**(`house_prices`): quarter-on-quarter change in house prices. Danish housing is closely tied to the mortgage-bond market, which makes it sensitive to rate changes.

### Labour market

- **[Unemployment rate](/denmark/unemployment)**(`unemployment`): the monthly seasonally adjusted gross unemployment rate, as a percentage of the labour force.

### External accounts

- **[Trade balance](/denmark/trade-balance)**(`trade_balance`): monthly, in DKK million.

- **[Current account balance](/denmark/current-account-balance)**(`current_account_balance`): monthly, in DKK million. Denmark has run a large, persistent current account surplus, which is part of what makes the peg credible.

- **[Trade-weighted index (BIS NEER)](/denmark/trade-weighted-index)**(`trade_weighted_index`): monthly. Because the krone is tied to the euro, this index mostly moves with the euro's own effective rate.

## DKK release timing

Statistics Denmark publishes at 08:00 Copenhagen time. Denmark (`Europe/Copenhagen`) follows central European daylight saving, so the UTC column shows summer time (CEST, UTC+2) first and winter time (CET, UTC+1) second.

Release Publisher Local time UTC Typical schedule**CPI and core inflation**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, around the 10th**Producer prices**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, mid-month**Unemployment**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, at the end of the following month**Trade and current account**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, early in the second month after the reference month**Industrial production**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, early in the second month after the reference month**Business and consumer confidence**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Monthly, in the second half of the reference month**GDP**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Quarterly, about seven weeks after quarter end**House prices**Statistics Denmark 08:00 06:00 / 07:00 Quarterly**Nationalbanken rate decisions**Danmarks Nationalbank Varies Varies Unscheduled; usually right after an ECB decision

Because Nationalbanken has no fixed meeting calendar, its rate changes are best watched alongside ECB decision days, which are on the[release calendar](/dashboard/release-calendar) . Nationalbanken announcements also appear in the[DKK press release feed](/dashboard/press-releases/dkk) .

## Worked example: the August 2026 CPI

Statistics Denmark published the August 2026 CPI on Thursday 10 September 2026 at 08:00 Copenhagen time. This request returns it:

```
curl -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" "https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/announcements/dkk/inflation?start_date=2026-09-01"
```

The newest row in the response (abridged to the core fields):

```
{
  "date": "2026-08-31",
  "val": 2.0,
  "announcement_datetime": 1789020000,
  "previous_value": 1.7,
  "previous_date": "2026-07-31"
}
```

`val`is CPI inflation of 2.0 percent year on year for August, up from 1.7 percent in July, and`announcement_datetime`1789020000 is 06:00:00 UTC, which is 08:00 CEST. That release came out the same day as the September 2026 ECB decision. For a pegged currency the useful comparison is with euro area inflation (`/v1/announcements/eur/inflation`): a persistent gap in Danish inflation relative to the euro area changes Denmark's competitiveness, because the exchange rate cannot adjust.

## How traders use DKK data

### Peg mechanics and EUR/DKK

EUR/DKK trades in a narrow range around 7.46. When it drifts towards the weak side, Nationalbanken can buy kroner or raise rates relative to the ECB; when it drifts strong, it can sell kroner or cut. Comparing the certificate of deposit rate with the ECB deposit facility rate (`/v1/announcements/eur/policy_rate`) shows when a spread has opened, which is the clearest public sign of peg defence.

### USD/DKK is a euro trade

Because of the peg, USD/DKK moves almost one for one with EUR/USD. US and euro area data drive it; Danish data mostly matter at the margin, through the policy spread to the ECB.

### Peg credibility through yields

The Danish 10-year yield against the German and euro area curves is a market measure of how much risk investors attach to the peg. A widening spread during euro area stress is a warning sign; a stable one confirms confidence.

### External surplus as a buffer

Denmark's large current account surplus means steady demand for kroner. In episodes of inflows, Nationalbanken has had to cut rates below the ECB and build reserves to stop the krone strengthening; the monthly current account and trade series show the size of that underlying pressure.
