A practical guide to FXMacroData's 78 US dollar series: who publishes them, when they are released in New York time and UTC, a real September 2026 jobs-report row you can fetch free without a key, and how FX traders use the data.

The US dollar is the deepest part of the FXMacroData catalogue and the only currency on the free tier. This guide lists the 78 USD series the production catalogue serves, groups them by what they measure, names the official publisher behind each group, gives release times in New York time and UTC, and walks through a real September 2026 jobs-report row that anyone can fetch without an API key.

**Quick answer**

**What is covered**

78 USD series: the federal funds target range and the New York Fed reference rates, the full Treasury curve and real yields, CPI, PCE and PPI, payrolls and the rest of the jobs report, GDP, retail sales, housing, trade, money, the Fed balance sheet and dollar indexes.

**Free access**

USD is on the Always Free tier: no key, 100 requests a day, and announcements delayed 15 minutes after release. A paid key removes the delay and unlocks the other 21 currencies.

**Why it matters**

The dollar is on one side of most FX trades, so US CPI, payrolls and Fed decisions reprice EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/USD and almost every other major pair at once.

**Takeaway:**For USD, the question is rarely whether a series exists; it is which of several related series the market is actually trading on the day.

## Who Publishes US Data

US macro data come from a spread of federal agencies, and FXMacroData sources each series from the agency that publishes it:

- **Federal Reserve Board**: FOMC decisions on the federal funds target range, money supply (H.6), the Fed balance sheet (H.4.1), industrial production (G.17) and the nominal dollar indexes (H.10).

- **Federal Reserve Bank of New York**: SOFR and its averages and index, the effective federal funds rate, OBFR, TGCR and BGCR, plus the Survey of Consumer Expectations used for the consumer confidence proxy.

- **Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS)**: CPI, PPI, import prices, productivity, the Employment Situation report and JOLTS.

- **Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)**: GDP, PCE inflation and the current account.

- **Census Bureau**: retail sales, durable goods, housing starts and permits, the goods and services trade balance and the Business Trends and Outlook Survey.

- **US Treasury**: daily par and real yield curves, breakevens, federal debt and gold and FX reserve holdings. Others include the Department of Labor (jobless claims), the EIA (crude and natural gas), FHFA (house prices), the CBO (NAIRU) and the BIS (trade-weighted index).

Each row stores the reference period as`date`and the publication moment as`announcement_datetime`. Paid users typically receive a release within seconds of official publication (see[release speed](/release-speed) ); free users see the same row 15 minutes later.

## USD Indicators Covered

### Policy and money-market rates

- [Federal funds target range](/united-states/policy-rate) : the upper bound, with the[lower bound](/united-states/policy-rate-target-lower) and the midpoint as separate series. Every FOMC decision is recorded, holds included.

## USD Release Timing

Most US data are released at 08:30 or 10:00 Eastern Time. The US moves to daylight saving time in March and back in November, so 08:30 ET is 12:30 UTC in summer (EDT) and 13:30 UTC in winter (EST).

## Worked Example: The September 2026 Jobs Report

The Employment Situation for September 2026 put the unemployment rate at 4.2 per cent, up from 4.1 per cent in August. Because USD is on the free tier, this request works without a key (the row appears 15 minutes after release):

```
curl "https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/announcements/usd/unemployment?start_date=2026-09-01"
```

The latest row returned (abridged to the fields used here):

```
{
  "currency": "USD",
  "indicator": "unemployment",
  "data": [
    {
      "date": "2026-09-30",
      "val": 4.2,
      "previous_value": 4.1,
      "previous_date": "2026-08-31",
      "announcement_datetime": 1790944200,
      "announcement_datetime_local": "2026-10-02T08:30:00-04:00"
    }
  ]
}
```

The epoch`1790944200`is 12:30 UTC on 2 October 2026, which is 08:30 local time (America/New_York) on 2 October 2026.

With a paid key, send the same request with the header`X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY`to receive the row without the delay. The same release also carried the nonfarm payrolls level (159,044,000), average hourly earnings growth of 3.0 per cent year on year and a participation rate of 61.8 per cent, all stamped with the same announcement time, so a script can compare every headline in the report against EUR/USD at the identical second.

## How Traders Use USD Data

- **CPI and payrolls against the 2-year.**The 2-year Treasury yield is the market's running estimate of the fed funds path. Measuring how far it moves in the minutes after CPI or payrolls separates prints that change the policy outlook from noise.

- **Funding versus target.**Comparing SOFR and the effective fed funds rate with the target range shows whether money-market conditions are tightening ahead of, or regardless of, FOMC decisions.

- **Real yields and the dollar.**The 10-year TIPS yield and breakevens split a nominal yield move into real rates and inflation compensation. Rising real yields have tended to be the more dollar-positive mix.

- **Rate differentials.**Pair the Treasury curve with foreign curves in the catalogue to build EUR/USD, USD/JPY or AUD/USD differential models; the[EUR/USD dashboard](/dashboard/EUR_USD) plots this alongside price.

- **Release-time backtests.**Because`announcement_datetime`records the publication second, a backtest can test the first 5, 15 or 60 minutes after each release rather than relying on daily closes.
