Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the FXMacroData API and website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Service and Access

FXMacroData provides real-time and historical macroeconomic data via an API for financial professionals. Certain freemium endpoint families are available without a subscription but are limited to the most recent 365 days for non-subscribed users. Full-history access and paid endpoint families require an active Professional subscription. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice.

3. Use License and Restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the API for your internal business purposes or personal quantitative analysis. This license includes the right to store and use data you lawfully retrieve for internal purposes as described below. You agree not to:

  • Resell, sublicense, redistribute, publish, externally share, expose through an API, feed, database, warehouse, marketplace, bulk download, or customer-facing product, or otherwise make available raw data, derived datasets, or substantially similar data products obtained from the Service.
  • Use data, retained historical copies, cached data, or derived datasets from the Service to build, train, populate, or operate a product or service that substitutes for or competes with FXMacroData.
  • Use the Service for illegal or unauthorized purposes.
  • Attempt to overburden, disrupt, or attack the API infrastructure.

Internal storage and retention

You may store, retain, and use FXMacroData data that you lawfully retrieve during an active subscription for your own internal research, analytics, audit, development, testing, reporting, and backtesting purposes. This includes raw API responses, historical snapshots, append-only internal records, technical logs, partial values, derived metrics, reports, models, and other internal research outputs.

Cancellation and retained data

FXMacroData does not require routine deletion or purge of internally retained data after cancellation or expiry. After cancellation or expiry, API access, updates, support, and the right to retrieve new data end, but you may continue to use data already retrieved for internal purposes, subject to these Terms.

Derived analytics

Derived analytics, metrics, models, reports, and research outputs may be retained and used internally. They may not be used to reconstruct, redistribute, expose, or commercialize the underlying FXMacroData dataset, or to create a substitute data feed or competing product.

Continuing restrictions

The restrictions on redistribution, resale, sublicensing, external sharing, public display, API or feed access, bulk export, warehouse sharing, marketplace distribution, and use of FXMacroData data to build or operate a substitute or competing data product continue to apply after cancellation or expiry.

4. Fair Use & "Unlimited" Access

FXMacroData provides "unlimited" API access to facilitate comprehensive data analysis and automated trading workflows. However, to ensure Service stability and prevent abuse of infrastructure costs, the following Fair Use guidelines apply:

  • Frequency: Standard "unlimited" access is defined as usage patterns typical of a single application or individual trader. Continuous high-frequency polling exceeding 1 request per second (RPS) is considered outside the scope of fair use for Individual plans.
  • Automation: While automated polling is permitted, scripts must implement reasonable "sleep" intervals. Intentional infrastructure exhaustion or "denial of service" behavior will result in immediate suspension.
  • Enforcement: We reserve the right to implement technical rate limits, throttling, or account suspension for users who significantly exceed average subscriber usage levels.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service and all data provided are "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the data will be accurate, complete, or error-free. Financial data is for informational purposes and does not constitute investment advice.

6. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the principles of international commercial law. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be finally settled under the Rules of Arbitration of a recognized international arbitral institution.

7. Billing and Cancellation

  • Free trials require a valid payment method at signup.
  • Unless cancelled before trial end, trials convert to a paid subscription at the listed plan price.
  • You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout.
  • If a renewal payment fails, we may limit or suspend service access until billing information is updated and payment is resolved.

8. Refund Policy

FXMacroData is a digital product. Except where required by law, subscription fees and completed billing charges are non-refundable.

FXMacroData is a digital product, and subscription fees and completed billing charges are not refundable except where required by law or where explicitly stated in a written agreement. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us at [email protected] and we will review your case.
